Rabbi Hammer offers students the opportunity to Adopt a Soldier from Sderot.

• Students collect $36. This money is used to purchase combat gear such as night vision goggles and protective vests as well as basic needs such as sunscreen, thermal underwear, ski hats, t-shirts, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

• Principals of schools are given a list of names of soldiers from Sderot and students then write personal letters expressing their concern for the boys who are protecting their homeland.

• Students will receive letters of appreciation from the soldiers they are in correspondence with.

This program is introduced by Rabbi Hammer's presentation, "A Soldier's Story" and can also include a short film about the Yeshivot Hesder Sderot and the boys from the Yeshiva, currently serving in the IDF.
